James graduated from the University of Notre Dame Australia with a Bachelor of Laws in 2017 having completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Western Australia in 2015. He joined Steinepreis Paganin as a Law Graduate in 2018, was admitted as a lawyer that year, and appointed as a Senior Associate on 1 January 2023.

James advises clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on ECM transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance matters. James has chaired AGM's, made presentations to company Boards, and is the Chair of the Steinepreis Paganin Charitable Foundation.
